Mississippi State continues to recruit the state of Georgia hard as Garry Peters is the latest prospect to pop onto the radar. Take a look at his evaluation and video to judge for yourself.

Evaluatrion

Peters is a dynamic, quick-footed athlete and a pure playmaker with the ball in his hands as dual-threat quarterback. Lines up behind center to get the ball in his team's best player's hands on every snap, but at the next level we feel this smooth athlete will line up at defensive back, most likely corner. Has good height on a long, leaner frame that still has a ton of physical development left. Very high-cut and rangy; should be able to compete for the jump versus today's taller college receivers. Displays very fluid, loose hips for his long lower- body and the ability to stop-start and change direction sharply. Will need to consistently play with good sink in his hips but should excel in mirroring receivers in off-man coverages at the next level. Flashes good speed as well and better than adequate burst to recover quickly when beat. Will need to polish up technique and show he can set the edge on run support but the great body control, ball skills and natural athleticism are there to mold once Peters concentrates on the fundamentals of cornerback play. Has very good range making safety a possibility as well if his body continues to fill out to play down in the box. Offense is not out of the question with his elusiveness and overall playmaking skills with the football in space. Overall, Peters may not be overly explosive and his top-end speed could get tested at the next level, but he is a smooth, composed athlete with great feet and a lot of natural ability. The key to his future success may be the ability to add size/strength and adjust to the increased physicality of the college level. Still should add great versatility and athleticism to a future roster.
